Maritime heritage groups which have inspired us.
Rescue Wooden Boats This registered charity was initially set up as charitable trust in 2011 based in the village of Stiffkey just outside Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk. They are dedicated to conserving the maritime heritage of North Norfolk's working wooden boats, their associated oral history, and the skills of boat building and artisanal fishing. They have saved and restored several clinker-built fishing boats and offer heritage tours aboard retired lifeboat and Dunkirk veteran Lucy Lavers. They also run an annual Maritime Heritage Festival and Flotilla. Their Facebook page is well worth a look for up to the minute information.
Allchorn Maritime are a volunteer organisation working to restore the huge clinker-built pleasure boat Southern Queen in an impressive boathouse at Fisherman's Green in Eastbourne. Details of this magnificent vessel can be found in her page on the National Register of Historic Ships.
